My Birthday Wine Tour

Mike surprised me for my Birthday with a wine tour of the Temecula Valley Wineries. What a great day we had, with a wonderful group and some terrific wines. Never knew that Southern California had awesome wine!!!!

Travels along the highway

We have been wandering the coast, hopping from Beach Town to Beach Town, riding the Trolley system in San Diego, and met up with my old friends Sybil and John Wilson for lunch. Hadn't seen Sybil in 50 years, what a great day..memories are forever!!!!

San Juan Capistrano..no Swallows!!!!

The Mission at San Juan Capistrano, was another of the sites we wanted to visit. Unfortunately, we were too early to see the Swallows return. The Mission has, over the years been restored to it's original beauty, and the history is just awesome.

Santa Monica, Malibu

A visit with Brian and Dianne was a must, so Mike ,I and Martybear took off for Santa Monica..We (but of course) had to stay at the Hotel California..must say it was an experience!!!!
I wanted to see Malibu, so we drove up THE ONE, also known as the PCH (all roads in California start with the word THE), in the rain..lol. Saw what we could see and Dustycat was happy to have been home dry and warm..:) Had a wonderful visit and some great food. Well at least we got there!!!!

San Diego Zoo, California

Mike and I spent a wonderful day at the San Diego Zoo. I have always loved Zoo's and San Diego has an amazing one. They also have a Tram that takes you up to the Panda exhibit and then back down to the many other sites and sounds. We of course walked our feet off, ate Kosher Hot Dogs and wander leisurely around..what a great day!!!!

Ajo to Yuma Arizona

As we had been told, there was not much in Ajo,but Mike liked the name :)..Though the sign sort of says it all !!! We did go to the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument..and of course Martybear and Mr Q had a photo op..LOL
Yuma was a good stop, with most of our time being spent in Los Algodones having Mike's glasses replaced and both Mike and I having some dental work.
